LEI<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

The Legal Entity Identifier (LEI<\/a><\/strong>) is a 20-charaters, alpha-numeric code, that connects to key reference information that enables clear and unique identification of companies participating in global financial markets, as defined by the Global Legal Entity Identifier Foundation (GLEIF<\/strong><\/a>)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ISO 17442<\/a><\/strong> is the standard applicable to LEI<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The URI for a Code defined by ISO standards\u00a0is defined in the\u00a0RFC5141<\/strong><\/a>, by using the\u00a0URL of ISO\u00a0followed by the Code, as:

ISIN<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

The International Securities Identification Number (ISIN<\/strong><\/a>)\u00a0is used worldwide to identify specific securities such as bonds, stocks (common and preferred), futures, warrant, rights, trusts, commercial paper and options. ISINs are assigned to securities to facilitate unambiguous clearing and settlement procedures. They are composed of a 12-charaters, alphanumeric code, and act to unify different ticker symbols \u201cwhich can vary by exchange and currency\u201d for the same security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ISO 6166<\/strong><\/a> is the standard applicable to ISIN<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The URI for a Code defined by ISO standards\u00a0is defined in the\u00a0<\/a>RFC5141<\/strong><\/a>, by using the\u00a0URL of ISO\u00a0followed by the Code, as:

2.8. Process for Identifier Resolution<\/em>
Resolving document identifiers:<\/em>
This schema has been developed with the intent that a URN identifying an ISO document can be transformed to a valid http URI by replacing the requested URN namespace prefix (\u201ciso\u201d) and the \u201cstd:\u201d prefix with the domain name \u201cstandards.iso.org\u201d, replacing all occurrences of \u201c:\u201d within the identifier with \u201c\/\u201d, and converting characters to lowercase. (ISO is planning to develop a website implementation to support these URIs.)<\/em>

It is recommended that the URI for a code NOT defined by ISO standards be defined similarly as specified in RFC5141<\/strong><\/a>, but using the code type URL followed by the code, as follows:

This URI is used for identification purposes, but does NOT link to any web page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
